Why Your Membership Matters

Membership in the American Legion Auxiliary is more than paying annual donations (dues)—it is a commitment to honoring those who have served our nation and ensuring their legacy continues for generations to come. Every member strengthens our organization and helps us fulfill our mission of supporting veterans, military members, their families, and our communities.

Your membership demonstrates that you believe in service above self. Whether you volunteer hundreds of hours, participate in a single project, or simply maintain your membership each year, you are helping preserve an organization that has been making a difference for more than a century. Every membership provides a stronger voice for veterans, supports life-changing programs, and ensures that the American Legion Auxiliary remains a trusted advocate for those who have sacrificed for our freedoms.

The Department of Colorado offers countless opportunities to become involved through committees, community service projects, youth programs, legislative advocacy, scholarships, patriotism, support for military families, and outreach to veterans. No matter your interests, talents, or available time, there is a place for you to make a meaningful impact.

Your membership also helps inspire the next generation of leaders. By sharing your knowledge, volunteering alongside Junior members, and participating in local units, you help ensure that the values of patriotism, service, and citizenship continue to thrive.

Together, we are stronger than any one member alone. Together, we honor the past, serve the present, and build a brighter future for those who have served and those who will serve.

Your membership matters. Your service matters. Most importantly—you matter. Thank you for being an essential part of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Colorado and for continuing our mission of Service Not Self.
