Junior Activities

The Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary are the future of our organization. Through service, leadership, and patriotism, they carry forward our legacy of honoring veterans, supporting military families, and strengthening our communities. While they may be our youngest members, their contributions make a meaningful impact today and help ensure the American Legion Auxiliary remains strong for generations to come.

The Department of Colorado is committed to providing Juniors with opportunities to grow as leaders while developing a lifelong passion for volunteerism and community service. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and participation in Auxiliary programs, Junior members learn the importance of civic responsibility, compassion, and service above self.

Junior members actively participate in a variety of meaningful activities, including:

  • Learning about patriotism and demonstrating respect for the United States Flag.
  • Supporting military families through service projects such as yard work, welcome activities for military children, and community outreach.
  • Distributing poppies and raising awareness on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and throughout the year to honor the sacrifices of our veterans.
  • Planning and leading service projects that develop leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Earning service patches while learning about the many programs and missions of the American Legion Auxiliary.
  • Building responsibility, volunteer experience, and leadership skills that enhance future scholarship, college, career, and military service opportunities.

One of the greatest benefits of being a Junior member is the opportunity to build lifelong friendships with other young women who share a commitment to service. Regional and National Junior Activities meetings bring together members from across the country to learn, grow, develop leadership skills, and experience the pride of belonging to an organization dedicated to making a difference.

The American Legion Auxiliary encourages every eligible young woman, age 17 and under, to become actively involved in Junior Activities. By empowering our Juniors today, we are investing in the future leaders of our organization and ensuring that our mission of Service Not Self continues for generations to come.

Every Junior member has the ability to lead, inspire, and make a lasting difference. Together, we are growing the next generation of compassionate leaders who will continue honoring veterans, supporting military families, and strengthening our communities.
